During the latest #ANDICOM40 LIVE, leaders from across the digital ecosystem shared a strategic perspective on the path of digital transformation in Latin America—and what it means for business, public policy, and specialized talent.
🎙 Moderator:
Alejandro Manrique – Bloomberg Línea
👥 Panelists:
Ana María Trimmiño – Senior Manager, CINTEL
Carolina Cabrera – VP of IT, Seguros del Estado
Juan Pablo Quintero – IT & Digital Manager, South LATAM, Coca-Cola FEMSA
Here are the main takeaways from the conversation:
1. AI is no longer a distant promise—it’s a present reality with real impact (and real challenges)
While we’re still in an exploratory phase, use cases for generative AI and applied artificial intelligence are already showing tangible results. Still, measuring ROI isn’t simple. As Juan Pablo Quintero explained, the real challenge lies in setting clear goals, establishing baselines, and understanding that not all impact can be measured immediately.
2. You don’t retain digital talent with salary alone—purpose, growth, and culture matter more
According to a Bloomberg Línea article,Latin America’s digital expansion will trigger an unprecedented demand for tech talent. Citing an IDC study, the region will need 2.5 million new ICT professionals by 2028.
To avoid talent drain, Carolina Cabrera emphasized the need to create meaningful workplaces. Career development, mentoring, well-being, and a strong organizational culture are key to making talent want to stay and grow.

From both CINTEL and the business sector, efforts are underway to establish ethical and regulatory frameworks. CINTEL, in partnership with the National Center for Artificial Intelligence of Chile and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), has launched the first GerencIA course for CIOs of Colombian companies with annual revenues over USD $1 million. The program will conclude with a graduation at ANDICOM 2025.
CINTEL also created the Competence Center for AI and Business Automation. Through interdisciplinary teams and joint programs with international institutions, a clear message is emerging: without guiding principles, tech adoption becomes a reputational and societal risk.
4. Innovation also means knowing when to say “no”
AI—or any technology—should serve a clear strategy. Ana María Trimmiño and Carolina Cabrera agreed: don’t adopt for the sake of trendiness. True innovation sometimes means choosing not to implement what isn’t aligned with your goals.
5. Networking remains the ultimate differentiator
Beyond the panel itself, the discussion highlighted the importance of strategic relationship spaces like the Meet & Business Room and the Business Matchmaking Sessions. As Ana María Trimmiño noted, the real value lies in connecting real needs with viable solutions.
💡 At ANDICOM 2025, these ideas will evolve into action—debated, refined, and amplified. If your organization believes in the transformative power of technology, this is your place to be.
