Two Decades Building AI That Communicates with People

Pilar Manchón is Senior Director of Research Strategy at Google AI, where she leads conversational artificial intelligence initiatives focused on trust, factuality, and aligning AI systems with human values. Her work shapes how intelligent systems interact with people—not only how they process information, but how they inspire confidence in those who use them.

Her career reflects a lifetime of building AI, not simply studying it. She founded Indisys, a pioneering company in intelligent virtual assistants that was later acquired by Intel. She subsequently held leadership roles at Intel, Amazon, and Roku before joining Google. She holds a PhD in Computational Linguistics and has conducted research at Stanford University, MIT, and Singularity University.

Manchón has been recognized for five consecutive years among the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in Technology in the United States and serves as an advisor to the Government of Spain on artificial intelligence strategy, contributing to public policy discussions that help shape the future of AI in Europe.

Artificial Intelligence as the Most Profound Transformative Technology

The keynote she brings to ANDICOM 2026 begins not with a question, but with a statement: artificial intelligence is the most profound and transformative technology humanity has ever developed.

This is not speculation, but a perspective grounded in decades of research and practical experience. Manchón examines AI’s real impact across work, transportation, education, science, and healthcare—not as future possibilities, but as transformations already underway that many organizations have yet to fully understand or measure.

Her perspective also addresses a topic rarely explored with sufficient depth: democratizing access to artificial intelligence. For Manchón, AI’s greatest potential lies not only in optimizing existing processes, but in expanding access to education and essential services for people who currently lack those opportunities. This transforms a technical discussion into one about human impact.

This essential conversation will take place at ANDICOM 2026.
