  • The European Union is the largest foreign technology investor in Colombia (22% of direct investment in the sector and more than 120,000 jobs generated).
  • The alliance drives a digital government and innovation agenda that connects Latin America with global digital transformation standards.

Bogotá, April 15, 2026. CINTEL, the Center for Innovation, Productivity and Technological Development, announced that the European Union will be the Guest of Honor at ANDICOM 2026, the most influential Business and Technology Congress of the digital ecosystem in Latin America and a benchmark for strategic dialogue on technology, business, and public policy.

Year after year, it brings together more than 6,200 attendees from more than 35 countries, as well as business leaders, government authorities, investors, and global experts to debate and define the course of digital transformation in the region. This space, where technology supply and demand converge to generate business and accelerate the digital transformation of companies, industries, and governments, will mark a new level in cooperation between Colombia, Latin America, and Europe.

With 27 member states and as the world’s most relevant economic bloc, the European Union arrives at ANDICOM 2026 to strengthen cooperation with Colombia in artificial intelligence, innovation, and technological development. In addition to being the largest foreign technology investor in the country, with a 22% share in the sector’s direct investment and more than 120,000 jobs generated, the European Union shares with ANDICOM a vision of responsible, people-centered digitalization, aligned with the purpose of turning technology into an engine of progress, innovation, and sustainable development for the region.

“The participation of the European Union in ANDICOM 2026 reflects a shared vision of the importance of digital transformation as a driver of economic and social development. This alliance allows us to connect Colombia and Latin America with one of the world’s most advanced ecosystems in innovation, investment, and technological development,” said Manuel Martínez, Executive Director of CINTEL.

In its 41st edition, ANDICOM will begin its academic agenda on September 1 with the pre-congress at the Hotel Faranda Collection, and will subsequently hold the congress from September 2 to 4 at the Complejo Las Americas in Cartagena. On this occasion, it will focus its theme on Unleashing the Power of AI, exploring how artificial intelligence is redefining business productivity, the competitiveness of economies, and the transformation of institutions in the digital age.

“It is an honor to bring Europe to ANDICOM 2026. This alliance reflects the strength of the relationship with Colombia and our commitment to the development of an innovative, secure, and people-centered digital economy. ANDICOM is the most influential technology and innovation stage in Latin America. Being here is a strategic opportunity to strengthen cooperation, drive European investment in the region, and advance a joint agenda that promotes digital transformation as an engine of sustainable and inclusive growth,” highlighted François Roudié, European Union Ambassador to Colombia.

The participation of the European Union in ANDICOM 2026 takes on special significance in the context of digital transformation, where the adoption of emerging technologies and the coordination between public and private actors are fundamental to boosting productivity, bridging digital divides, and promoting more inclusive and sustainable growth. Likewise, the alliance between CINTEL and the European Union comes at a crucial moment when artificial intelligence is consolidating as a central axis of competitiveness, connecting this global conversation with one of the world’s most advanced ecosystems in technological development, digital regulation, and innovation.

With the European Union as Guest of Honor, ANDICOM 2026 is projected as the stage where Colombia, Latin America, and Europe will converge to build a joint digital agenda, drive strategic alliances, and advance in the decision-making that will define the digital future of the region.
