The European Union will be the guest of honor at ANDICOM 2026, the leading International Congress on Technology and Business and Latin America’s foremost forum on artificial intelligence within the regional digital ecosystem. The announcement, made by CINTEL, the Center for Innovation, Productivity and Technological Development, marks a milestone for digital cooperation between Europe and Latin America: for the first time, one of the world’s most advanced technology blocs will hold a leading role at the congress that, across more than 40 editions, has been the space where Colombia and the region define their digital agenda. 

Why the European Union at ANDICOM 2026? 

This partnership reflects a strategic affinity: the European Union is the largest foreign technology investor in Colombia, accounting for 22% of direct investment in the sector and generating more than 120,000 jobs nationwide. It also shares with ANDICOM a vision of responsible digitalization, centered on people and grounded in robust regulatory frameworks. 

Its participation strengthens bilateral cooperation in artificial intelligence, innovation and digital governance, connecting Colombia and Latin America with one of the world’s most advanced ecosystems in technology regulation. 

The voices behind the alliance 

Manuel Martínez, Executive Director of CINTEL, emphasized that this participation “reflects a shared vision of the importance of digital transformation as an engine of economic and social development.” François Roudié, Ambassador of the European Union to Colombia, noted that “ANDICOM is the most influential technology and innovation forum in Latin America,” and that the EU’s presence represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen cooperation, attract European investment to the region and advance a joint agenda for sustainable and inclusive growth. 

ANDICOM 2026: where the region’s digital agenda is built 

With the European Union as guest of honor, ANDICOM 2026 is positioned as the venue where Colombia, Latin America and Europe converge to define a joint digital agenda, drive strategic alliances and advance the decisions that will shape the region’s digital future. The congress will take place from September 1 to 4 in Cartagena, at the Las Américas Complex and the Faranda Collection Hotel under the theme Unleashing the Power of AI, and will bring together more than 6,200 attendees from over 35 countries, consolidating ANDICOM as Latin America’s leading congress on artificial intelligence.
